CDK Global Heavy Truck once again surveyed truck dealership management and staff to better understand the challenges they face and the changes in the industry over the past year. We heard from over 100 dealers and members of their staffs including, Accounting, Administration, Parts, Service and Sales for the 2025 State of the Industry report.
While the US economy saw healthy growth of 2.8% in real GDP and maintained low unemployment rates, the heavy-duty truck market experienced a downturn in 2024, with sales dropping nearly 10% from 2023. High interest rates and customer retention issues were significant factors.
Despite hurdles, dealerships are making strides by focusing on improving staff training and investing in IT infrastructure to enhance sales and fleet management.
